A personal symbolic wedding, elopement or vow renewal in Galway or along the Wild Atlantic Way, even when the idea arrives at the last minute.
There is something magical about Ireland.
Perhaps it’s the ever-changing skies, the wild beauty of the Atlantic coastline or the ancient landscapes that have witnessed centuries of love stories. Whatever it is, Ireland has a way of slowing life down, inviting you to be present and reminding you what truly matters.
For many couples arriving on Irish shores, the original plan is simply to explore. A road trip along the breathtaking Wild Atlantic Way. A cosy cottage overlooking the sea. Cliff walks, hidden beaches, mountain passes and quiet moments together.
But sometimes, somewhere between the crashing waves and the endless horizon, something unexpected happens.
A thought quietly appears:
“Why don’t we celebrate our love… right here?”
Recently, I’ve had the joy of creating several ceremonies for couples who contacted me at short notice. What began as a holiday or an Irish adventure became something much more—a deeply personal moment in a place that had captured their hearts.
It reminded me that sometimes a ceremony doesn’t begin with a year of planning.
Sometimes it begins with a feeling.
When the Moment Feels Right
Not every ceremony needs months of preparation, hundreds of guests or an elaborate venue.
Sometimes the most meaningful celebrations are the ones that grow naturally from the moment.
Perhaps you have been married for thirty years and suddenly feel inspired to renew the promises you have already lived.
Perhaps you have completed the legal part of your marriage at home and would love to exchange personal vows somewhere unforgettable in Ireland.
Or perhaps you are dreaming of an intimate symbolic elopement, with no audience beyond the Atlantic Ocean, the landscape and the person standing beside you.
Imagine exchanging vows as the Atlantic breeze carries your words across the cliffs.
Standing hand in hand beneath an ancient woodland canopy.
Sharing promises beside a peaceful lake, on a secluded beach or overlooking the sea as the sun begins to set.
These are not simply ceremonies.
They are moments that become part of your story forever.
Already in Ireland, or travelling here soon?
A last-minute symbolic wedding ceremony, elopement or vow renewal may be possible, depending on my availability, the date and the location.
Tell me where you are, what you would like to celebrate and when you would love it to happen.

Your Ceremony, Your Way
One of the joys of an intimate symbolic ceremony is that there are no rigid rules.
A vow renewal can be as simple as reading new promises to one another.
A symbolic elopement can focus entirely on the two of you, without distraction or expectation.
A commitment ceremony can honour your relationship in a way that reflects who you are and what you mean to one another.
The same relaxed and personal approach can also be brought to a baby naming ceremony, gathering close family and friends to welcome a new life in a place that feels peaceful and meaningful.
Every ceremony is created around your story, your values and what matters most to you.
There is no standard script you have to follow.
Only the words that come from your heart.
A Note About Legal Marriage in Ireland
I create personal symbolic ceremonies, vow renewals, commitment ceremonies and celebrations of love.
A symbolic ceremony does not create a legally recognised marriage. Many international couples complete the legal formalities in their home country and then travel to Ireland for a personal ceremony in a beautiful location.
Couples wishing to enter a legally recognised marriage in Ireland must follow Ireland’s official marriage notification process, which normally requires at least three months’ notice.
For couples who simply want the freedom to celebrate their love during an Irish journey, a symbolic ceremony can be a beautiful and deeply personal choice.
The Wild Atlantic Way: Nature’s Greatest Ceremony Venue
Stretching for more than 2,500 kilometres, the Wild Atlantic Way offers some of the most spectacular ceremony locations in Ireland.
Towering cliffs, sweeping beaches, rugged headlands, hidden coves and ancient landscapes provide an unforgettable backdrop for life’s most precious milestones.
Some couples dream of the Cliffs of Moher.
Others fall in love with the quiet beauty of Connemara, the coastline of County Clare or the windswept beaches of Donegal.
And sometimes, it is not about a famous location at all.
It is about your place.
The beach where you watched your first Irish sunset.
The mountain where you shared a picnic.
The quiet forest where you both said, “I could stay here forever.”
Those places often become the most meaningful ceremony locations of all.
As a Galway-based celebrant, I know the West of Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way well. I am also happy to travel throughout Ireland to help create a ceremony in a setting that feels right for you.
A Celebration That Fits Your Journey
Many visitors discover that adding a ceremony to their Irish adventure becomes the highlight of their trip.
No enormous guest list.
No months of planning.
No pressure to make the day anything other than your own.
You can keep your ceremony wonderfully simple or include personal elements such as handfasting, a Claddagh ring blessing, candle lighting, family participation, Irish poetry or Celtic traditions.
The experience can be relaxed, authentic and deeply personal.
Can a Ceremony Be Arranged at Short Notice?
Often, yes.
It will depend on my availability, the location and what you would like the ceremony to include, but a heartfelt ceremony does not always need a long planning period.
Some couples contact me before arriving in Ireland. Others reach out while they are already exploring Galway, Connemara or another part of the Wild Atlantic Way.
Send me your preferred date, the area you are visiting, the type of ceremony you are considering and how many people will be present.
Even when time is short, I will take the time to understand your story and create something that feels personal rather than generic.
Your Irish Love Story Awaits
Whether you are renewing a lifetime of love, celebrating a symbolic elopement or reaffirming your commitment, Ireland has a remarkable way of making ordinary moments feel extraordinary.
Sometimes the best decisions are the ones made on a whim.
Sometimes the perfect ceremony is not the one planned years in advance. It is the one inspired by a breathtaking view, a shared smile and the simple realisation that this moment deserves to be remembered.
If your journey brings you to Ireland, perhaps your love story is waiting for its next chapter.
Whether it is on a windswept coastline, beside a tranquil lake or in a place that has already captured your hearts, I would be honoured to help you create a ceremony as unique as the story that brought you here.
Because the most beautiful ceremonies are not measured by the size of the guest list.
They are measured by the love that fills the moment.
